The trusted third party

for real estate biodiversity

The body that does not design, does not support, and decides on evidence.

Manifesto

Biodiversity is not declared. It is demonstrated.

A label you award yourself remains a promise. An assessment carried out by a third party whose competence is attested becomes evidence.

We do not design projects. We do not support them. We assess them, then we decide.

The standards we apply are public. Our certificates are entered in the register. What cannot be verified cannot be certified.

We want natural capital to be treated as critical infrastructure: assessed, monitored and protected, like energy or carbon.

The core · signature: La preuve, pas la promesse.

What IRICE is, aims for and guarantees.

Purpose

To make the ecological performance of a project a verifiable fact.

Vision

Natural capital treated as critical infrastructure, assessed and protected like energy or carbon.

Promise

Evidence that can be verified and relied upon.

Mission

To assess as a third party, decide with full impartiality, and enter every decision in the public register.

Positioning

The trusted third party for real estate biodiversity: the body that does not design, does not support, and decides on evidence.

Values · each one can be checked

i.

Impartiality

We assess what others have designed.

An impartiality committee with 3 colleges, no outsourcing of certification.

ii.

Rigour

Every requirement is checked.

On documents and on site, by an appointed assessor.

iii.

Transparency

Everything a decision rests on is public.

Downloadable, versioned standards; certificates in the register.

iv.

Openness

The standard is built with those who apply it.

Biodiversity Partners involved in every version, approved by the Biodiversity Standard Council, scientific and technical committee for the NORMATYS standards.

Personality

The respected referee: the one whose decision needs no defending.

Is exact · calm · accessible · educational

Separation of roles

3 roles, 3 entities, one shared roof.

A legal separation, not a cosmetic one: each has its role, under the same roof.

  1. Trademarks

    NORMAXIS

    Owner of the trademarks

    Effinature, BPS, Efficarbone.

  2. Standards under licence

    NORMATYS

    Designer of the standards

    Designs, develops, adopts, updates, publishes.

  3. Decision

    IRICE

    Certification body

Assesses and decides, as a third party.

  4. Approves the versions

    Biodiversity Standard Council

Scheme committee, run by IRICE on behalf of NORMATYS.

    The scheme committee →
  5. Safeguards impartiality

    Impartiality committee

    3 colleges:

    • Independent experts: external people with no role at IRICE or in an assessed operation.
    • Clients: representatives of interested parties (developers, investors, local authorities).
    • Internal: IRICE staff and management.

A shared roof

NORMATYS and IRICE share the flower, the typography and the address. The separation is legal: every document states who writes the standard and who decides on certification.

Directive (EU) 2024/825

A certification scheme requires monitoring by a party independent of the scheme owner and of the trader. NORMATYS designs, IRICE checks and decides.

The ecosystem

Biodiversity Partners support projects: qualified professionals, allies of IRICE. Qualitel Formation, a Qualiopi-certified training body, provides their training.

Accreditation

Certifying, under accreditation.

IRICE is a body certifying products, processes and services under ISO/IEC 17065, a third party independent of the owner of the certification scheme and of the assessed professional.

Cofrac accreditation No. 5-0655 · Certification of products, processes and services · ISO/IEC 17065 · Scope available on www.cofrac.fr. This accreditation covers the EFFINATURE and EFFINATURE HVE certification programmes.
